CJ turned 6 weeks old the Saturday after Christmas and at this point I can definitely say he is an amazing baby. He sleeps well, smiles, and can keep himself occupied. He is giving me a completely different experience than his sister did.
I took a break from blogging for 3 weeks. Holly has been off school and Chris has been home from work for 2 weeks (they’re on shut down) and I’ve been soaking up every minute of it. We have literally been doing nothing. We’ve ordered pizza more times than I would like to admit, watched a bazillion hours of TV (including starting Friends on Netflix-woo!), and spent the majority of our time on our couches. I’m in heaven. My house is insanely disorganized from the Christmas clutter and I don’t even care.
Speaking of Christmas, ours was amazing. This was CJ’s first Christmas. On Christmas eve, my parents and grandparents made the 2.5 hour journey to our house to visit and eat a ton of delicious finger foods. My grandparents got to meet CJ and see our house for the first time- it was so nice. After everyone left we took part in our family traditions, which include matching PJs, putting reindeer food (glitter and oatmeal) in the yard, writing a letter to Santa to read while he eats his cookies, and watching Christmas movies.
Luckily and coincidentally, we got to have Brooke for Christmas morning this year, so our family got to be all together for the event. The girls recieved a ridiculous amount of gifts (I’m talking ridiculous. Like every single thing they asked for, they got. I actually considered taking stuff back because I don’t even think they would notice.) and we were done opening gifts at 8am.
We spent the rest of Christmas and Boxing Day at Chris’ mom’s house with most of his family.
New Years Eve came fast. I actually stayed awake for the ball drop this year. I had 2 glasses of champagne and we watched movies until about 11:30 when we switched to the countdown. We used Netflix to trick Holly into getting to bed by 8- It was amazing. We kissed at midnight and then went to bed.
Ever since then, we’ve been doing nothing. I went out shopping for groceries once and that’s it. I love it. But tomorrow it all changes. Chris is back to work, Holly is back to school, and I am mourning Christmas and the break.
How was your holiday?
