It feels extremely strange to know that it’s been 2 entire weeks since I’ve posted here. I haven’t been ignoring the blog, just doing some behind the scenes work (read more about that below)! April has been flying by. It feels like yesterday I was writing my March update, and now here we are!
Here’s what I’ve been up this month.
Watching
So many of you will be excited about this! My husband and I are finally watching The Office (US). We’re started it about 4 times but always stopped, not knowing why. We finally made it past the first season and now I truly understand why people love it. I 100% have a crush on Jim, too.
I finished “Easy” on Netflix and am devastated there will only be one more season. It’s such an amazing show, and it was only just getting started.
On the weekend, I finally caught up on This Is Us. The last episode had me bawling alone on my couch as per usual. I should have known better than to watch multiple episodes at once!
Listening To
My daughter has finally pulled me aboard the Billie Eilish train. I’ve always liked a few of her songs (Ocean Eyes, Lovely) but “Bad Guy” totally got me!
The song of this week is 3:15 – Bazzi. I’m not fully sure why, but I can’t get it out of my head.
Eating
Salad. I discovered Olive Garden’s bottled Italian dressing and managed to eat salad 13 days in a row.
I made a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip muffins this past weekend using this mix, and although homemade is great, it took me 5 minutes to get them in the oven and they taste amazing!
Shopping For
I just finished my Easter shopping (thank you Amazon!) but beyond that I’m trying not to shop for anything. With hockey registration coming in at about $500 per kid, it’s a crazy month for our budget.
My biggest purchase this month was a brand new battery for the Peg Perego Gaucho Jeep that our son has. The jeep itself is wildly expensive, so when it stopped working I took a chance and assumed it was the battery. I called Peg Perego’s head office in Canada, and they were able to ship me a new one in less than 2 days! The Jeep works like new again, so I can’t wait to surprise CJ with it on Easter morning.
Doing
As I mentioned above, I took some time from posting here on the blog to work on some behind the scenes stuff. I’ve been categorizing and deleting super old posts that don’t seem relevant to my blog anymore. My biggest success was finally changing my permalink structure! I’ll be sharing a post on this later in the week.
We’ve also been spending almost every night at the park or walking trails. Paired with all of the yoga I’ve been doing, it feels amazing. It’s such a great feeling to get off my phone and explore with my kids. Yay Spring!
Thinking
About how much focusing on personal development can change your life. I’ve discussed it here before, but since January I’ve cut down on my “projects” and focused on my own well being. For me personally this means reducing the sugar I eat, finding consistency in being active, reading, and exploring with my family.
The difference in how I feel as a person between then and now is astounding. It’s exactly what I needed.
Planning
This spring there are a couple checklist items that need to be completed – finish the landscaping in our front yard, re-do our shed roof, and replace our patio door. They’re all fairly big ticket items, so lots of budget work is ahead.
I’m also trying to pick where we’re going for our Summer trip. If you have any suggestions for family vacations in Michigan or Ontario, let me know!
What are you up to this month?
