Summer weather is here and I’m excited to see what the next few months will hold. This time of year gets extremely busy for our family, but I’m also trying to soak up as much of it as I can.
Check out what I’ve been up this month.
Watching
Both the second season of Little Big Lies and the sixth season of Younger came back this past month. As if it wasn’t already amazing, the addition of Meryl Streep to the Little Big Lies cast takes the show to the next level.
The past month was also filled with basketball. The Raptors are the new NBA champions and it’s amazing – I swear my husband is living his dream.
Listening To
I’m not a Katy Perry fan, but her new song “Never Really Over” is so catchy! I love everything Cardi B has been putting out, but I’m kind of obsessing over 90’s hip hop playlists on Spotify.
Eating
Cereal! When the weather heats up, I swear all I want to eat is cereal and salad. For the first time in like 10 years, I bought French Toast Crunch. It didn’t disappoint. It’s a sad day when we run out of Fruity Pebbles, but It’ll be a few more weeks before I make it to the US again.
Shopping For
For the first time in a long time I purchased myself some new clothes. This dress from Old Navy is so flattering, meanwhile torrid’s buy 1 get 1 free clearance sale got me this pretty purple top as well as this teal tank.
Beyond that, this month has been minimal for shopping. Summer is extremely expensive for us simply because our daycare costs skyrocket, so I’m trying to play with our budget and make it all work.
Doing
Since last month, we’ve completed re-doing our shed roof which is absolutely huge for me. For the last 5 years we’ve had a 22ft shed that couldn’t be used for anything important as the roof leaked like crazy. Chris and I truly proved something to ourselves when we completely demolished and re-did the roof by ourselves. Just the two of us managed to replace all of the plywood, waterproof, and shingle in just one weekend. Go us!
We also took our kids to Toledo Speedway a few weeks ago for some awesome figure 8 racing. You can read all about it in this post.
Thinking
That I’m having a bit of a hard time connecting to the blog. For the past 10 years, blogging inspiration has come in waves for me. Usually I have trouble finding and creating content, but this time things are different. I’ve got projects to share, but no motivation to sit and write the posts.
I’ve been spending a significant amount of time on me – eating well, exercising, accomplishing personal goals, etc. My energy has just been focused elsewhere, which is both good and bad.
Planning
Frugal summer trips and activities. I’m working really hard to keep our summer in tact while also keeping a super tight budget. I plan on making our own version of a frugal summer bucket list soon, and this list is full of ideas.
What are you up to this month?
