This statement couldn’t be any more true. October is such a beautiful and cozy month. The snow hasn’t started, but weather is cool and I feel amazing when I walk outside. Here’s what I’ve been up to this month:
Watching
Last night for our anniversary, we watched Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist (one of my favourite movies of all time) and tonight I’m headed to the theater to see A Star Is Born. As a long time Gaga fan, I’m so excited!
I’m also currently watching Real Housewives of Orange County, Teen Mom OG, This is Us, and American Horror Story: Apocalypse. This season of AHS is blowing my mind, so If you aren’t caught up, get watching!
Listening To
I’m a huge fan of Lana Del Rey and I’m currently obsessing over her two new songs – “Mariners Apartment Complex” and “Venice Bitch” as well as the Lust for Life album. Khalid’s song “Better” has also been getting heavy play. It’s been very slow and calming music around here lately.
Eating
I’ve baked these pumpkin cream cheese swirl muffins 4 times already this month. My husband says they might be the best thing I’ve ever made, and I might agree.
Shopping For
It took me SO long to find Holly’s costume. She wanted to be a female version of Pennywise, but was very particular about what the costume should look like. I finally found this one, and thank god – she fits into the adult small!
Our van is in desperate need of tires after I put it off for so long, and guess what? Tire shopping sucks. I truly hate anything to do with cars. Does anyone else feel like this?
Doing
We just celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary, and it inspired me to post my favorite fall wedding photo.
Guess what? We finally finished the walkway!! That walkway has been on my list for over 6 months, and It’s finally crossed off. I’ll be sharing the process here hopefully next week!
I also decided to play a little game with my decluttering this past month. I’ve committed to purging one area per week (no matter how big or small) and it’s been so motivating. This weekend I did our linen closet and ended up clearing out two entire shelves. I now have open space to use and it feels extremely rewarding.
Thinking
This Fall has been busy. For a long time, I was dreading the time that all of our kids were in activities – the driving, the being on time, the prep, the money, etc.
In September the kids started skating two days a week on top of their weekly swimming lessons. I was terrified that I would get overwhelmed, but I’m seeing such a huge difference in our family that I can’t help but be happy. The kids are thriving in their activities and seem excited about life in general and I’ve actually found a calm break from life in watching them skate and swim. I need to stop worrying so much.
Planning
I just started writing out my Christmas purchase list. In the back of my planner I wrote a list of people as well as ideas for gifts. When I purchase something, I plan to check off the item and jot down the price. This keeps me focused and lets me visualize how my Christmas shopping is moving along.
I’m also planning to paint something new before the end of the year. I’m debating on our lower living room, our master bedroom, or the kitchen ceiling. Painting is the worst, but it instantly changes a space.
What are you up to this month?
