Watching
Chris and I have been exploring Netflix original movies a ton. This weekend we watched The Package and The After Party, and I have to say that both are hilarious! As for TV, I’m watching Real Housewives of Orange County, Are You The One?, and Westworld. We have so many shows on our “to watch” list right now that I almost feel overwhelmed. #TVaddict
Listening To
Spotify’s throwback 2000’s playlists are giving me life right now. I don’t even know how people function without Spotify. Travis Scott’s Astroworld album has been on frequent rotation, and I’ve been listening to lots of ASMR recordings.
Eating
Fall comfort foods! As soon as the weather starts to change, I get an extreme urge to bake. Last week it was chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, and this weekend it’s Starbucks copycat blueberry muffins. We’ve also been trying to take advantage of the end of BBQ season and get out there as much as we can. Oh, and pumpkin spice lattes – duh!
Shopping For
I’m trying extremely hard not to spend money this month (after we just went on two vacations and had to buy school clothes) but man it’s hard! The stores are full of amazing Fall decorations (I seriously want all the pumpkins from Home Sense pictured above), and I’ve even seen some Christmas stuff out. I’m shopping for deals, nothing too crazy.
Doing
There’s big progress since last month in the “doing” department. We finally finished hauling gravel and our driveway is complete! Now it’s time to bang out the walkway we’ve been talking about doing for months. I’ve also been decluttering and donating like you wouldn’t believe. I’m so proud of myself.
At the end of August, Chris and I went on a mini honeymoon to Niagara Falls and it was amazing! We did tons of touristy stuff including a falls fireworks cruise and the real life Mario Kart go-kart track (Niagara Speedway). To cap off the summer we spent our weekend at the local fair, a Labour day tradition.
Finally, our youngest started school this past Monday and a new chapter of our lives has begun. He absolutely loves it, but I seriously can’t believe that I’m done having little kids. Life is changing!
Thinking
Next week I turn 28 and I’ve been thinking about how good life truly is. I’ve been able to really look at the big picture lately and appreciate everything I have. In previous years, I couldn’t do that. I’ve always been a rather negative person, so this feels like a huge deal. I’m trying to really live in this mind space and not let little things affect me.
Planning
Tons of holiday DIY projects, because even though September just started, December will be here before we know it. I want to focus on making inexpensive home decor instead of buying new this year. I also want to finish up a few outdoor tasks before it gets too cold. Right now is the perfect time of year for big outdoor changes because it’s not too hot or too cold, but it doesn’t last long. Wish me luck!
What are you up to this month?
