I honestly cannot remember where I first saw someone make giant kisses out of tin foil, but I knew immediately that I had to make some for Valentine’s Day this year. This is one of the quickest and cheapest crafts I’ve done in a while and I’m excited to share it! We love a good dollar store DIY.
I hope you love these adorable DIY giant Hershey kisses as much as I do.
With the majority of my house being a pink explosion from January 1st – February 15th every year, I knew these would fit right into my washroom decor (aka the only place that silver exists in my home). Who puts Valentine’s Day decorations in their bathroom? It’s me. Hi! I’m the problem. It’s me.
Here’s how I created these DIY giant Hershey kisses using dollar store funnels.
The supplies list for this adorable DIY is super short.
- 3 pack of funnels from Dollarama
- White ribbon scraps (preferably ribbon with wiring to keep the tag in shape)
- Blue vinyl for the Cricut
- Tin foil
First, I used my Cricut to cut blue “kisses” text for the tags and added it to some white ribbon I already had in my scrap bin. I left a few extra inches of ribbon at the beginning of each tag to stuff inside of the funnels so that I didn’t have to secure them with anything. I highly suggest using a wired ribbon as it will allow them to sit the way real Hershey Kisses do.
I stuffed the end of the finished tags into the tip of each funnel and that’s when it got interesting. It turns out that replicating the signature Hershey Kiss foil twist is a lot harder than I imagined. Are they perfect? No. Did I rip 20 sheets of tin foil before I settled? Yes. But it’s fine. For $2 in supplies, these are pretty dang cute.
I did my best to make the foil look acceptable and surprisingly, they came out SO cute. The trio looks absolutely perfect on my bathroom shelf.
“Mom, why would you put giant Hershey kisses above the toilet?” – my son CJ.
Because why not?
