Spring cleaning is a big deal for me. I associate it with feeling lighter and starting fresh. There’s a relaxing feeling in knowing that your house is refined and refreshed after a whole year of build up.
Check out one of my favourite Spring cleaning tips!
Earlier this month, Chris did a massive overhaul of our under-the-stairs storage, our storage closet, and our mud room. He added some new shelving, pulled out everything, and started from scratch. I came home from work and he was dying to show me what he had done. He had made space for me to easily access my professional KitchenAid mixer (which isn’t in our kitchen simply because it takes up a lot of room). When I saw it, I absolutely melted. This is exactly why I love spring cleaning – it’s a chance to consider how life has changed in the last year and make adjustments. My big spring job is to deep clean everything, especially before it gets hot. Here’s a bit of what my checklist includes:
– Clean windows, interior and exterior
– Move all furniture and clean baseboards
– Move appliances and clean underneath/behind
– Clean kitchen cabinet fronts and reline all cupboards and drawers
– Wash and deodorize all garbage cans
This year, I was given the chance to try Pine-Sol Spring Blossom. I was extremely surprised when I received the bottle and it was bright pink, and even more surprised when I opened it and the room filled with an amazing floral scent. Spring Blossom is a combination of Jasmine, Magnolia, and Orange Blossom, and it blows me away every time I open the bottle.
Not only is PineSol Spring Blossom deororizing and degreasing, the scent really lasts. I’m obsessed with using this stuff in my kitchen and especially in my bathroom because hours later when I return, the smell is still there. Dare I say…it actually makes cleaning more enjoyable.
Priced at $4.49 CAD for a 1.41L bottle, I would buy it over and over again simply because I feel like when I purchase the cleaner, I get a bonus built-it air freshener. It’s become a staple in my cleaning cupboard.
I still have a few items on my list left to tackle, but I’m well on my way to revamping for the year.
Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a dreaded chore! Make it about improving the way your life functions, and you’ll thank yourself everyday.
