Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to transform the upper level of our home. We’ve made some big changes, but I’m completely blown away by the impact new flooring has had. Just getting rid of our old carpet has us feeling like we live in a completely different house.

Since the day we purchased our home, I’ve been itching to replace the old shag carpeting. 5 years later, I’m so excited to say that we finally did it! We started in the bedrooms on the upper level of our home, and I’m so happy with how they turned out.

Over the past few years, I’ve been slowly trying to incorporate farmhouse/rustic style elements into our home. So far, I’ve built a farmhouse inspired table, upcycled a coffee table to match, and built a huge set of rustic shelves (which I’ll be sharing soon).
I recently came across a set of hooks at Ikea that I knew would be a perfect fit once I gave them a little upgrade. For under $25, I got my perfect entry hooks!

There are some expenses that cannot be completely eliminated, but for me the easiest section of my budget to minimize is the personal care and hygiene area. This means not buying new makeup (even though I want to so badly), using up products I already have before buying new ones, and cutting my own hair.
I know cutting your hair sounds risky, but I promise it’s easier than you think.
