After sending out our ballet invitations, I started to shop around for decorations for Holly’s third birthday party. It turns out that ballet themed decorations are hard to come by.

I had a really hard time finding any “ballet” themed decorations for her party, so I was left to stick with a simple pink and white colour scheme and a few easy DIY projects.

Last weekend we threw Holly her very first real birthday party. By “real” I mean not just family – We had 13 of her school friends over and thew an awesome Emoji birthday party. It was super fun, and I managed to do it without spending a lot.

From the beginning I knew that I wanted simple, elegant save-the-dates. I also knew that I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, so I decided to make them myself. I brainstormed a lot of ways to incorporate gold (ribbons, glitter, etc.), but when I stumbled across these gold cards at Michaels, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
