Happy March! Spring is right around the corner, and where I live we’re basically over Winter (for now). This is generally the time of year where people completely give up on their yearly goals, but I promise I won’t be going down that road!

It feels extremely strange to know that it’s been 2 entire weeks since I’ve posted here. I haven’t been ignoring the blog, just doing some behind the scenes work (read more about that below)! April has been flying by. It feels like yesterday I was writing my March update, and now here we are!
I have always found that Mother’s and Father’s Days are the “holidays” that tend to be forgotten about until the very last minute. With Mother’s Day being so close to Easter, it becomes a non-priority for many of us. Father’s day, on the other hand, lands very close to summer and gets lost in the mix of planning parties and wrapping up the school year.

It’s Spring, which means it’s time for cleaning and home improvement. Everyone around us is fixing up their homes – new siding, new windows, new decks, etc. It’s making me crazy anxious to make some decisions on things we need to do around our home.
One thing about living in the blog world is that it’s very easy to get caught up in the perfection that photos and social media can portray. Day in and day out, I look at photos of seemingly perfect homes wishing I could change mine. It’s a real struggle learning how to be happier in your home.
The truth of the matter is that we purchased our home for a great price, but we knew from the start there would be work to do. Although we’ve been making changes since we moved in 2014, our home is nowhere near where I would like it to be. Regardless of the fact that we have a good sized functional home, I find myself stressing over the fact that our kitchen has yet to be redone, our upstairs is still covered in the home’s original carpet, and our front yard has no landscaping. I’m slowly learning to be happy in the home we have, but it’s difficult.
